Hedo Turkoglu Wants Out of Toronto and Back in Sacramento?

Hedo Turkoglu

According to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Toronto star small forward, Hedo Turkoglu, wants out of Canada, and is eyeing one of his former teams as his next destination.

The disgruntled Toronto star ended up being (arguably) a free agent bust, as he was forced to be a passive player without the ball in his hands as much as he had grown accustomed to in Orlando.

Toronto struggled all season to develop any kind of a consistent defensive tenacity, and didn’t get enough from Turkoglu on offense on a regular basis to make the signing make much sense.

There isn’t much word on whether the Sacramento Kings (who Turkoglu is reportedly interested in joining) are interested in bringing on a 31-year old with a fat contract and a disappointing 2009-10 season as extra baggage.

Fantasy Perspective: If used properly, there’s no doubt in our mind that Turk is still an elite player. If you watched tape from his days in Orlando, Turkoglu thrived in crunch time, and was at his best when he had the ball in his hands. Not so much in Toronto, as the Raptors were generally paced by Jose Calderon or Jarrett Jack, and also relied heavily on feeding Chris Bosh the rock.

We’re not sold that going to Sacramento is a win-win for both sides, but it can’t get much worse than it’s been in Toronto.
