According to Sam Amick via Twitter, star guard/forward John Salmons will reportedly opt out of his contract with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Salmons came over from Chicago near the end of the 2009-10 season and played extremely well, taking over Michael Redd’s role as a scorer and helping the Bucks reach the NBA Playoffs.

The move doesn’t appear to be related to the Bucks traded for small forward Corey Maggette, but the new addition makes retaining Salmons fairly unlikely.
