NBA Free Agency Rumors: Hawks Going After Joe Johnson With Max Contract?

According to CBSSports.com, the Atlanta Hawks are going hard after star guard/forward Joe Johnson, and are reportedly ready to offer a max contract in the neighborhood of six years and around $120 million.

Johnson is expected to weigh his options, while the decisions of other marquee players could dramatically affect his decision. Then again, Johnson is viewed as one of the “lesser” marquee players, which could mean he starts the domino effect.

The New York Knicks are also said to be interested, as they’ve been mentioned in rumors with Johnson and former Washington Wizards wing man, Mike Miller. We’ll see if either side can keep their poker face.
