NBA Trade: Peja Stojakovic to the Toronto Raptors in Five Player Deal

By Kevin Roberts • on November 20, 2010 • Filed under: NBA Rumors, Trade Rumors

According to ESPN reports, New Orleans Hornets wing man Peja Stojakovic will be shipped out of New Orleans in a five-player trade that will send him to the Toronto Raptors.

The trade will send Stojakovic and Jerryd Bayless to Toronto, and New Orleans will receive Jarrett Jack, Marcus Banks, and David Anderson in return.

This move gives New Orleans even more guard depth behind Chris Paul, while giving the team another inside/outside presence in David Anderson. The trade also frees up minutes for Jose Calderon to reclaim his starting role at the point in Toronto, while Stojakovic could earn more minutes in Toronto than he had been getting this season in New Orleans.

Fantasy Impact: We’re far from ready to vouch for Stojakovic as a fantasy starter, but Jose Calderon could slowly emerge again in the fantasy basketball scene as a quality point guard option, provided he gets the minutes he had been accustomed to in previous seasons.

Stay tuned for updates on this trade.
