Report: Carmelo Anthony Met With Knicks Owner
According to the New York Daily News, New York Knicks owner James Dolan met with Denver Nuggets star forward Carmelo Anthony on Thursday in Los Angeles, and the Nuggets and Knicks are expected to have a conference call on Friday night.
The two teams have been trying to work out a deal for some time, but New York’s reluctance to meet Denver’s reportedly lofty demands has re-opened the door for the New Jersey Nets to negotiate a trade for Anthony.
Fantasy Impact: We’ll hear about 20 reports like this before anything ever happens, but it appears the final nail in the coffin will be whether or not Danilo Gallinari is included in the trade. Regardless, Anthony has been on fire over the past month, and getting what he wants in a new city will only help his game. The potential in a high-octane offense like the Knicks certainly wouldn’t hurt, either.
